The Atyrau Car-Building Plant (ACBP) has manufactured the first prototype tank cars for LPG and petroleum products. The engineering center KazCTT developed new models of classic design with enhanced performance characteristics, setting new records across the 1520 mm gauge network: The gas tank car model 15-3234 features a boiler volume of over 88 m³, with no restrictions on the range of transported LPG; The oil and gasoline tank car model 15-3237 has a volume exceeding 90 m³ and a payload capacity of 70 tons, which is 4% higher than that of its closest counterparts.
Both models demonstrate industry-leading material efficiency, which helps reduce production costs and bring to market competitive products of Kazakhstani manufacture.
Mass production is scheduled to begin in early 2026. The main customer for the gas tank cars will be the transport company TEXOL, a leading LPG carrier in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, and the largest owner of a gas tank car fleet.
