In several districts of the city of Atyrau modernised solid domestic waste collection zones.
The project was initiated by the Public Association ‘Atameken Eco’ under the programme ‘Koqyspen kүres - taza kөsherer’ (In the fight against waste for tidy streets) and implemented with the support of local entrepreneurs and the city administration. The main sponsor of the project is TEXOL group of companies.
At the moment between the microdistrict of Balyksha and Damba village (the administrative centre of the rural district of the same name, subordinate to the city administration of Atyrau) 5 eco-boxes have been installed: in Kyzyl Balyk and Zhanatalap villages of Atyrau rural district, Balabaksha, Balyksha and Algabas microdistricts.
According to Atyrau Regional Maslikhat deputy Arman Khairullin, the new construction solves three problems at once: it prevents from scattering rubbish, looks aesthetically pleasing, and is easy to maintain.
‘It is necessary to place such structures on a concrete base everywhere. At the meetings of the Environmental Commission of Atyrau Regional Maslikhat we have repeatedly raised this topic and decided to contribute to the preservation of cleanliness. Remembering the election promises made to the people, two years ago we installed two such eco-boxes in Balykshi and in the Balausa residential area (Yerkinkala rural district) and were convinced of their usefulness. Employees of ‘Spetsavtobaza’ LLP clean the containers and remove rubbish. Let's appreciate their work!’, he urged.
